search and replace

I am trying to do a search-and-replace across all the documents in a topic, but I don't understand how to do that. In MyInfo help we are told to "make sure that the All Documents option is selected in the Scope list," but I see no such "Scope list" when I invoke the search-and-re...

jamal, what you seem to be saying is that there is no simple solution, and I assume that's true. I've explained on another thread http://www.milenix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3236 my own work-around. It involves the creation of big PDF files and the use of GoodReader on the iPhone. But I agree with...

In Evernote it's also possible to edit a synced version of one's notes on a password-protected website. If it's too time consuming for Petko to create an iPhone app, maybe the website would be the way to go? Then it could be designed so that we could easily access it from any smart phone.

Yes, I've noticed that behavior too. Hyphens, even when linking words, are always interpreted as negative searches. There's another problem with the hyphen. Sometimes I'm just searching for something (a word or phrase) that is not present in my notes, and I get the same error message ("Please w...

I've now done some further experiments in copying topics over to the iPhone, this time using the Stanza app. Searching and moving from page to page are much faster in Stanza than in GoodReader, but so far I haven't found a way to preserve formatting (specifically, Web links, italics, and bold) in St...

In filter view it would be handy to have our favorite filters as tabs at the top (much like the document tabs at the top in tree view)
A nice idea -- or perhaps put them in the tree? or a drop-down menu on the main screen?

Petko, I am always astonished when you fix problems so quickly. I don't know of any other note-taking software that offers this level of service. Thanks very much.

menu font

Petko, this is a small thing, but I am troubled by the fact that MyInfo menu titles (on my computer, using Windows XP) are displayed in some sort of very primitive default font that I cannot control through Windows Settings>Control panel>Display>Appearance. Changing the Windows menu font size has an...

I had no problems in exporting an RTF file of the entire topic. Make sure that for "Range," you specify "All documents."

I have Nitro installed on my computer but haven't tried using it for this purpose. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

I suppose you use the pdf export because its faster than to use Quickoffice or DocumentsToGo that can read doc, rtf, and pdf files? I've played around with Docs-To-Go, but it didn't really seem suitable for my needs. I can't see much point in editing -- or adding to -- an exported file from MyInfo,...

I'm now using DropBox for syncing and backup, and it works smoothly. However, my latest scheme for getting MyInfo files loaded on an iPhone/iPod is to export a single rtf file from each topic, then massage it a bit in OpenOffice (in particular I increase the left and right margins, which later has t...

iPhone/iPod

I continue to wish there were a way to view my notes on an iPhone or iPod. I would be happy with something very uncomplicated: no tags, dates, etc., just a simple search and some elementary editing. Petko, you're no doubt aware of this already, but a few note-taking programs for the iPhone/iPod offe...

tiled documents causing crash

Petko, I have raised this question before, but it is a persistent problem that does not go away with each new release. When I try to tile two or documents, the program crashes and I get an error message that reads: "[word or number] is not a valid date or time." I wonder if other users are...

It is difficult to generalize, for the reasons you give. But I find MyInfo 5 to be, on the whole, very satisfactory. It does the job smoothly and efficiently. I confess that I rarely use the internal file viewer; I merely link to external files. The improvements I would most like to see are (a) the ...
