Re: Web Clipping

Sounds like we have very similar workflows! There are many fine applications out there with unique strengths, but not many are as nicely packaged as MyInfo. The closest competitor in my mind is MyNotesKeeper; myBase and TreeProjects are not in the same category with respect to usability and feature-...

Re: interface is very slow when minimizing then switching ba

It's too bad that MyInfo couldn't make use of the 16GB RAM as a 64-bit application. However, I noticed a huge speed improvement when I installed an SSD drive into my ThinkPad X200 tablet. So it seems that the hard drive access time could be an issue with larger MyInfo files. None of my files are tha...

Re: Web Clipping

Agreed. I also use myBase for it's awesome web-clipping, MyNotesKeeper for graphic-intensive notes (e.g., ability to insert floating graphics, aligned left or right within text), Smereka TreeProjects for writing notes re: PDF articles since it can search for text within attachments, and MyInfo for i...

Re: Sales demotivators

1) I agree - styles can be improved greatly. While the implementation is better than most, I'd love to see a style pane (ala Word) and shortcut keys that would allow quick inspection and application of styles. As for exporting topics, I also use full text search & replace in my exported HTML fil...

Re: Possible to including OCR using open source OCR OCRopus?

Not sure that I would want OCR built into the product, especially if performance would be compromised. However, this might make a great "plugin" option. Or, perhaps, an internal scripting engine should be considered, whereby one could use python or wscript to launch an external application...

Re: Suggestion: annotation for HTML; Import filter for ODT O

Qiqqa, Citavi, and Biblioscape are great at annotating PDF references. You can also step up one level in complexity and try either Atlas.ti or NVivo, but these are quite specialized. Personally, I have all five applications loaded on my machine and use each for the strengths they provide. Yes, I'm s...

Re: Features that might be added

I agree with all your points, Coolrat. And, I would also add that other programs manage (and index) PDF and Office documents much better than MyInfo, and would be a welcomed improvement. Lastly, when copying text or an abstract from a PDF, there are always hard line breaks #13 #10 inserted. I would ...

Re: Attribute pane takes up too much space

Personally, I would like to see the ability to drag & dock the attributes pane. You could float it, dock it to the right, at the bottom, or (how I would like it placed) beneath the tree items pane.

Re: zoom

+1

Yes, this feature would be nice. Like web browsers, CTRL + (plus) should zoom larger and CTRL - (minus) should zoom smaller (when the document window has focus).

File Viewers Plug-In

I would like to suggest that MyInfo provide enhanced document/file viewing capabilities in its internal browser window. With the capability to attach/import external files into MyInfo topics, it would be advantageous to be able to view such documents internally. Many programs offer such file viewing...

Re: MyInfo 6.02 released

It seems as though the maximize/minimize/restore button (whatever it's called) is missing from my embedded view and notes windows. In other words, I cannot maximize the internal viewer or notes panes to fill the document area.

Anyone else have this issue?
