Some queries during trial

Post by emma313823 »

Hi,
I'm trialing the software. I've created several notebooks (no data yet). I've redirected the Save location. Does any data I enter save automatically, since I do not see a 'save' option from the file dropdown menu?

One of the features that intrigued me was the code snippet...can someone help me figure out how to use that feature?

My preference is to embed images etc instead of as attachments. Does MyInfo allow for this?

Are there any exportable formats of a notebook - word, pdf, html? The backup option is great, but I'd like some exportable options.

Does any data I enter save automatically, since I do not see a 'save' option from the file dropdown menu? I just typed the word "test" in a note and closed out of MyInfo and when I re-launched MyInfo the word "Test" was still in the note, so it appears yes it has autosave.

code snippet
1. Create a note
2. Click inside the body of the note
3. Click on insert > code snippet... ( or you can add the Code Snippet button to a toolbar )
4. Once the code snippet window appears
5. Select the language
6, Type or paste the text
7. Click on the OK button

My preference is to embed images etc instead of as attachments. Does MyInfo allow for this? Yes, I copy and paste images directly into the body of the note often, you can also grab the corner of the image and shrink or expand it.

Are there any exportable formats of a notebook - word, pdf, html? You can export to Text, Word, RTF, HTML, CSV, a Website, Folders and Files along with another MyInfo Notebook.

~ Yes, your "data" is saved automatically while typing, adding components (image, code) and changing your tabs and structure etc.

~ The code snippet component is pretty simple. In a note, place the cursor, press "insert code snippet", in the floating window; select language, then add your code and press "OK". To edit; dubble click it. To delete; select and press delete or backspace.
(Find the button: "insert" - "Code Snippet...")

~ Skip images attachment, just drag a normal imagefile format from the computer into the note. Use the snipping tool and press CTRL + V where the cursor are.

~ You export notebooks using: "File" - "Export"

~ You move your notebooks by dragging it in your computer filesystem to the place of your choice. The backups are backups, focus on the original (the notepad that have no date stamps)

Hi
I am trying to export, and it is only exporting out one section in the notebook. I selected the notebook on the left navigation panel.

There are 6 sections in the notebook, and it keeps exporting only one section. Can someone help me figure out how to export out the entire notebook?

emma313823 - do these steps work:
File
Export
Click on MyInfo Notebook
Selections Range, click on All Sections
Click on the OK button
Navigate to the location to save the file ie: Desktop
Provide a Filename
Click on the Save button
This exports as a MyInfo Notebook, where you looking to export to another format ( Word, PDF, HTML )?

Hi,
No following these steps exactly only exports out a .mnb file type. I am unable to drop on save as type ater export to change this. In order for me to export out as word, txt or pdf, I must select Text, MS Word, RTF, or HTML and do not get an option to select ALL SECTIONS. I've attached two screenshots to show what I mean - both are in the export view.

Emma, multi-section export is not supported for all export types yet, but it is in the todo list!

Hi,
Thanks for the info. So, exporting is huge and is the only thing right now preventing me from pulling the trigger to purchase. I am using this right now to compile multiple data dictionaries for an access database and for several Power BI reports. It would seem that I need to select all notes within a section and then export.

I guess the clunky way after this is to merge the PDF or Word document in order to compile a combined document.

Are there any plans to allow export of the entire notebook?
