Search for notes that aren't locked?

Post by lbw2112 »

I know I can search for notes that are locked with has:lock. Is there a way to search for notes that are NOT locked?

Thanks,
Larry

I created a folder call "Test" and clicked on "Lock Note" and I can see the lock icon on the folder.

In the search if I type "has:lock" only that folder appears ( this is my only locked folder/note )

I tried "-has:lock" and it removed the folder from the search so putting the - at the beginning of the command may do the inverse or in your case what you want to see.

Thanks for the reply. I did try a few things and that was one of them. It showed the results for any note that had that phrase "has:lock" in it but unfortunately not the notes that weren't locked. I even tried things like has:-lock, has:lock- just to see but no luck. It may not even be possible yet.

I do appreciate the help though.

Thanks,

This may work, you need to create this for each section

Show Locked Notes
1. Create a new perspective list
2. Customize
3. Match the following Rules
4. Is Locked - is - true

Show Unlocked Notes
1. Create a new perspective list
2. Customize
3. Match the following Rules
4. Is Locked - is - false

Thanks noone22, I'll use that solution if there isn't a special search term to do it in Global Search. I have a few notebooks with many sections in them that have all the notes locked. After I add a new note I try to remember to lock it when I'm done but of course I get busy and forget so would be easiest to just do a search at the end of the day to see what I forgot. I like the protection of not easily being able to change the notes by accident.

Again, thanks. I appreciate the help.

Sounds like a problem with notebook indexing. Can you try has:lock in a new notebook to see if it works there?

Hi Petko,
Has:Lock works fine, I was wondering if there was a way to find any unlocked notes.
