search and replace (scope)

Post by wsp »

I am trying to do a search and replace operation for an entire topic, and I find the instructions in the help file rather confusing. So far I have been unable to extend the search and replace beyond a single document.

The help file speaks of "using the Tools > Find Text dialog," but in the "Tools" menu the only relevant items I find are "Find in document" and "Replace in document" (nothing labelled "Find Text"), and in neither of them am I offered an opportunity to define the scope. I can, of course, change the scope of an ordinary search in the search box, but that seems to have no effect on search and place.

I have a feeling that I'm missing something really obvious.

It is currently not possible to replace text in more than one document at a time.

Petko, then I hope you'll put this on the wish-list for the next version. A global search and replace is often very helpful in editing long, complex texts.
