embedded file size limited to 11 MB?

Is it true that the embedded file size is limited to 11 MB or did I miss something? In many cases, the files I would like to embed are much more bigger than 11 MB.

The embedded file limit currently is really 11MB. It may increase in the future versions though.

Is the 11MB limit per embedded item, or is it a total limit of all embedded files in one database?

It is per embedded item only.
