[fixed in 6.07] Why does my cursor jump after search?!

This has REALLY bothered me since version 2.0 or so...
After a search, the text I want is highlighted. However, if I try to place my cursor on the text (for copying or editing), my cursor immediately jumps to the beginning of the document.
WHY, WHY, WHY? It's totally annoying.
Since the text is highlighted and scrolled to by search, why can't I place my cursor there? Am I doing something wrong, can this be fixed?
