Can't open or create new .mio files

Every time I try to open a previous file I get a message along the lines of "Could not create XXXXXXXXX.tmp file". If I am attempting to make a new file I get that with an access violation.
I have tried uninstalling and re installing MyInfo but so far have been unable to do anything with it.
Any advice?

Yes. After a couple tries I even tried uninstalling the latest version and installing an older version but nothing changed.

Is it possible that the permissions for the current user's temp folder (if you are using Windows Vista or newer) are messed up? Could you check it for: C:\Users\[user name]\App Data\Local\Temp\MyInfo Temp?
