Would it be possible to have 'typewriter scrolling' as an option?
In WriteMonkey, for instance, one can have the active line of type halfway up the screen, so that the eyeline remains in the middle of the screen. Ordinarily the typing one does pushes the active line to the bottom of the screen - against the bottom edge of the window - making it less visible than when in the middle of the screen when one started typing.

Scrivener can be set to do a similar thing where the cursor position is two thirds of the way down the screen (if there is enough text above it).

This is better when one is typing a long passage of text.
