Why can't I custom sort the first section? I can drag around the other sections where I want the notes to be, but the first one can only be sorted alphabetical?

Unless I'm misunderstanding the problem, it looks like you have the notes in a List type (I'm guessing the other sections are "Tree" note type. That automatically only sorts alphabetically forward or reverse (depending on which way the arrow's pointing when you click on "Title" above notes titles). You should be able to change the note type to Tree mode by Right Clicking on Perspective name (Main) and click on "Convert to Tree" in the pop up menu. You'll also notice the icon above the Perspective name changes to look like a tree outline instead of a List outline.
