Should Microsoft Office file preview links be included in the browser frame?

When I create a Note using an External Document template, I am given the option to "Browse for files to link". MyInfo 7 Help says I may include a link and "use it to preview the linked file on your computer". basket random

My concern is if I may preview a connected file in the browser or the MyInfo editor window after linking it. Clicking on a related note title in the tree for these additional file kinds will take you to their external page. Is this considered typical behavior?
