Searchable PDF

Hi,

I have the trial version of MyInfo Professional 7.1 [7030].

I imported a searchable PDF but Global Search in all notebooks won't find text in the PDF.

Am I doing something wrong?

How did you insert the PDF file?

(A) Insert -> Notes from files
(B) Insert -> Attachment
(C) Insert -> Note -> External Document

Indexing doesn't occur in case C, at this point in time. Reason: the file could be changed by an external program or replaced by different file when MyInfo isn't running. And re-indexing all External Documents on launch is rather expensive with plenty of PDF's.

Case A and B are indexed. However there was a regression. So if you started with slightly older build, inserted the PDF there, and upgraded to 7030, it could be that the indexing didn't occur.

Side note: I personally see 'External Documents' being indexed too. For consistency (search everywhere) and certain workflows (having direct access to files outside MyInfo). However the implementation isn't that simple and like come with some strings attached
