Forms - Ability to Create Folders

Post by noone22 »

Please allow the ability to create folders on a form.

I create lots of attributes and sometimes the forms are very long, in order to keep the form from taking up lots of space on the screen it would be helpful to create folders on a form that I could collapse ( collapse as a default option ).

Example: I have a generic task form however I have added an attribute for many different groups I work with, on the form I will fill in each attribute where it applies to the group, by adding 5-10 group attributes it makes the form long, being able to move those attributes to a folder on the form and to collapse the form would shorten the space the form uses on the screen.

Example:
Form - Task
URL
Username
Password
Contacts Folder ( Folder I Can Collapse )
Network ( attribute inside Contacts folder )
DNS ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
Security ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
Logical Access ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
Server ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
ServiceNow ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
Splunk ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
SharePoint ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
Email ( attribute inside folder Contacts folder )
etc

thank you...J

Is it an option to re-use the attribute panel for this purpose? Yo can create 'folders' for your custom attributes and it's more efficient regarding screen-estate

Step 1: Show Attribute Panel
Show Attribute Panel; View -> Panes -> Attribute Pane

Step 2: Categorize
* View -> Attributes -> Select an existing custom attribute -> Properties .
* Type a new category in the 'Category Drop Down' & Press OK. Now the custom attribute is grouped to defined category

Another idea:
1. Create multiple forms (so each 'folder' a form')
2. Change the form from the attribute panel -> Form drop down

Ideally the form drop down would be present in the from itself, instead of having to rely on the attribute panel. This way it's to use multiple forms for the same note, without UI issues
