Option available to change icons in MyInfo 4

Post by pehendrix »

Hello, I'm a newbie, but don't see where or whether one can edit and choose alternate icons for the topic folders.

I saw a previous post last year that indicated this feature may be implemented in MyInfo 4.

Does anyone know if it has been implemented? If so, pls direct me to the menu option; also, how to upload new icons.

Thank you.

Phil, you can't change the existing icons, but you can add your own icons. Take a look at Tools > Options > Customize states.

Hi, I've added my own icons following your instructions above. I've also set Appearance to show state icons.

But how do you change the icon for a particular topic? Sorry, I've looked but am unable to find instructions on where/how to change.

Also, am I correct in assuming that one cannot change the Document icons?

Thanks.

You can't change the topic icons currently. The same applies for the document icons. You can however, hide the document icons, if you don't need them (File > Properties > Appearance).

Hi, I don't mean to sound impetuous, but what is the benefit of being able to add icons if you can't use them?

Just curious...

Have you tried to left click on the little down-arrow to the left of the document icon?

Sorry, it was my mistake. Of course, you can use the newly added state icons :) Just click the arrow next to the document icon and select the newly added icon in the More State Icons dialog.

You can also add the newly added icon(s) to the state icons context menu: Tools > Options > Customize States, select one of the icons and click Change Icon.

Sorry, but I'm still unable to get this to work.

1. I've uploaded two new icons. They appear in list, along with default options.
2. I can change the state icon in the Topic Display to one of the icons that came w/ MyInfo, but when I select one of the icons I've uploaded, the state icon does not appear in the Topic Display - e.g., it's blank.

Is there something that I'm doing incorrectly?

Thanks.

First, make sure that you select your custom icon through context menu > More State Icons. It will not work through context menu > Customize States.

If that does not help, could you please send me the following file at support@milenix.com:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Computer User Name]\Application Data\Milenix\MyInfo\4\custom_state_images.bmp

This will help me in reproducing your problem and probably fixing it. Please note that some of these folders may be hidden in Windows Explorer.
