Importing documents insertion point

Post by photo1220 »

I am running MyInfo Pro 4.23 under Windows XP. I am importing a text file in .CSV format.

Consider a tree structure like this:
A. Topic
...B. Import Header Level (I wanted the imported records to be subdocuments of B.)
.....C. subLevel 1 (I wanted the imports to be siblings of C.)
.......D. subLevel 2 (I made this document active to get my desired result.)
.........E. subLevel 3 (Who needs this one?)

My end result was to insert the records as subdocuments of B. I experimented until I reached this work-around: select D., import from the .CSV file, and the records were inserted as subdocuments of B. This is what I was after, but getting there was not "half the fun".

Is this as designed? or have I missed something?

Thanks,
Philip

MyInfo inserts documents as sibling documents of the selected one. If you select document "C" and import from CSV, imported documents should be siblings of "C". Isn't that the way it works for you?

No. Unfortunately it works as I describe in my post: If I select a document at level 3 (child of level2), the imported documents are inserted as siblings of level2. In other words, they are at the parent level of the document that was highlighted/selected.
