search and replace

Post by wsp »

I am trying to do a search-and-replace across all the documents in a topic, but I don't understand how to do that. In MyInfo help we are told to "make sure that the All Documents option is selected in the Scope list," but I see no such "Scope list" when I invoke the search-and-replace menu. (I know how to define the scope with a drop-down menu in the search box on my tool bar, but that's another matter.) As it is, I seem to be able to do search-and-replace in individual documents. Am I missing something really obvious? Or if there is no possibility of doing a search-and-replace across all the documents in a topic, shouldn't there be? (Petko?)

It was removed in some of the 4.x versions, because of technical reasons, but it may reappear in some of the next versions.

I hope this feature will return; it's extremely useful in editing large topics. Right now I'm struggling to replace a phrase that appears in hundreds of documents.
