Hello,
I am looking for a portable PIM capable of running from a flash drive at home as well as at the office (where my user permissions are quite restricted).
MyInfo seems to be a good option since it doesn't have unnecessary "bells and wistles" and loads fast as a result. In fact, it is almost portable, i.e. after installation it can be copied to a flash drive and run. The only problem is, it doesn't remember user settings from session to session and always starts in the wizard mode.
I'm not a programmer, but I guess it would be quite easy to make a truly portable version that would store all settings in an *.ini file located in the program directory (yes, just like the good old days) and would not write into registry.
I guess there are many potential users out there who would appreciate such portability.
What about a portable version?
I love myinfo, it holds almost everything i need to keep, from links, the send to (a god send) anyway, i use mine mostly for keeping regs, serials, reciepts from online accounts...you name it, the only thing its missing is full line support across page, basicly away to do simple tables for formating, maybe some easy add and subtrac....but add some icons, nothing skin wise, just different icons, and who knows, ewallet may have some compitition...the reason being isI wwant you guys to write a mobile 5 version for pc pocket phones, like the samsung i730....it would solve all my troubles, because you can keep all the files on a SD disk, a 2 gig. add a few templaters and the ie intergration....i bet it would sell...cause i just spent 2 days straight looking at all of them andd a program called phate notes...i think is nice, cause i can write fre hand in a pinch and it trnslates it...anyway...think about it ok, its a wuinner just talking about it...i know.....22 years of it.
