[confirmed] Incorrect formatting of URL hyperlinks in imported TXT files.

Post by nocar »

16 months ago I posted this item in the forum: viewtopic.php?t=8194 .

I received no reply and unfortunately the problem persists. I import lots of plain text files into MyInfo. Those plain text files contain URL hyperlinks. Once imported, the URL hyperlinks always appear as Arial 10-point font no matter what I have set as my normal font or my link font in the MyInfo note. I have to alter every imported URL by hand to get it to match the font of the rest of the note.

As I asked 16 months ago, "Is there, or will there be, a solution?"

And does anyone else experience this issue with imported plains text files.

Thanks. -- George

George, there is no such option yet. Did you try changing the Link style in the notebook to match your desired formatting for links?

Petko, yes, I did change the Styles Link font and size.

In Format > Styles > Link, I changed to my desired font and size. The Styles preview pane shows the Link font and size I want. However, when I import a plain text file or drag-and-drop a plain text file that contains URL address link, that link reverts to Arial 10-point font in the MyInfo note editor. I have to manually correct the font and its size to match the rest of my note.

I can confirm the issue
Menu -> Tools -> Options -> Display -> Note Editor Appearance -> Pick some font, not Arial 10
Menu -> Format -> Styles -> Link -> Fontbox Empty (so inherited)
Drag an TXT with an URL into tree of MyInfo

The URL remains Arial 10

Telesto, thanks for confirming the problem. I've reported this twice before this particular posting: first in 2018 when working with MyInfo 7 and 16 months ago with MyInfo 8. It is not major issue preventing the use of MyInfo but it is a hassle.

I've done some tests and it seems that MyInfo formats the imported link explicitly with Arial 10 pt. I will fix that, so they will use Link styles as they should.
